Heitor Villa-Lobos was born on March 5, 1887 in Rio de Janeiro. Son of Raul Villa-Lobos, professor, amateur musician and employee of the National Library, and Mrs. Noemia, maid.
the 18 to 20 years led a wandering and adventurous through Brazil, visiting the North, playing, composing music that go to his future works.
From there, he returned to this country several times, where he recorded his works, was the recipient of new scores, and have made the acquaintance of the great names of American music, thus closing the cycle of its international recognition. Villa-Lobos died of cancer on November 17, 1959, in Rio de Janeiro.
